Changing Icon Themes in Ubuntu: Intrepid Ibex
I been baffled by this since I started using Ubuntu (Dapper Drake).
Using gnome-art to get themes.
In the terminal type:
sudo aptitude install gnome-art
You can find the new menu in System>Preferences>Art Manager
From here, you can download and installing new icons themes.
The other alternative is to visit gnome-look.org and check out and download those themes.
Once you have the file...
- System>Preferences>Appearance>Install
- Select the downloaded .tar file -
Implementing your new icon theme.
System>Preferences>Appearance - under the theme tab, select a theme that you want to change the icons for, then press Customize - navigate to the icons tab. Select your icon theme and viola!
